Adam Mayfield lands post-AMC gig

Adam Mayfield won't have too long to mourn the end of his daytime run as Scott Chandler. The recently ousted AMC star has landed a role in an independent film. Mayfield joined AMC in 2009.

Recently ousted All My Children star, Adam Mayfield (Scott Chandler), has already landed a post-AMC job.

Mayfield will star opposite Desperate Housewives' Andrea Bowen in the independent film The Preacher's Wife, according to Soaps In Depth. The film, which is currently shooting in Texas, follows Bowen's character as she is forced to return to her small hometown and the strict, religious household in which she grew up. Mayfield will play Bowen's love interest.

As previously reported, May field was released from his role as Scott Chandler. Two-time Emmy nominee, Daniel Cosgrove, will reprise the role of Scott in December. Cosgrove previously appeared as AMC's Scott in the late 1990s.

Mayfield's final airdate has not yet been announced. Mayfield made his AMC debut in early April 2009.
